If you’re coming out to our event this Saturday here’s a bit of information for you…
Directions to the event
The entrance to the event will be well marked, but here are a few notes to make sure you have your bearings.
Heading southbound on the 101
If you’re heading southbound on the 101, take the Highway 154 exit towards Los Olivos. Just before the intersection of Highways 154 and 246 you will see the entrance on your left. Do not stop traffic here to make a left turn. Instead, continue down Highway 154, circle back through the roundabout and then head to our entrance.
Heading northbound on the 101
If you’re heading north on the 101 you’ll want to take Highway 154 / San Marcos Pass exit in Santa Barbara. Continue on Highway 154 past Lake Cachuma towards Los Olivos. Just after you pass the roundabout where Highways 154 and 246 meet, look for the entrance to your right.
$10 for Parking
There is a $10 parking fee, per car.
Spectator Admission is $10
Admission for spectators is $10 at the entrance. Kids get in free.
If you’re running, arrive early
Please try to arrive an hour before your wave time to allow yourself ample time for check-in.
Bring a photo ID
You’ll need to provide a photo ID at check-in, so please come prepared.
Secure your shoes
We recommend duct taping your shoes so they don’t get left behind in the mud.
Hand protection is recommended
You’ll be doing a little crawling and a fair amount of climbing, so it would be wise to bring some gloves along to keep your hands protected.
Bring a towel
You are going to get wet and it will likely be cold. There’s no doubt about that, so you’ll probably want to have a towel waiting for you at the finish line. If you happen to forget your towel we might have a snazzy Orange Mud transition wrap to sell you, but supplies will be limited.
We will have an ATM on-site
For your convenience, there will be an ATM machine available at the event.
Food and refreshments will be available
Hot Coffee, Breakfast Burritos, Tri Tip & Hot Dogs will be served by the Elks all day long! Please stay and get something warm to eat and cheer on the runners!!!
There will also be ice cold beer courtesy of Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. and Fireman’s Brew.
Come and party with us at the Maverick!
Come celebrate with us at the “After Party” at the Maverick Saloon in Santa Ynez. There will be live entertainment, door prizes, a silent auction and Tom’s Backyard BBQ! Proceeds from the event will go to the families of fallen firefighters. Admission is only $25, and it includes an ice cold Figueroa Mtn Brew, plus a tasty tri-tip sandwich! So come on down to the Maverick this Saturday for a great time, and to support a great cause.
